Districts after the intervention of Divyayan KVK. The KVK is trying its best, to help farmers get fair
price of their product by marketing their products.
           3. Making Goatery as profitable enterprises with the sponsorship of National Bank for Agriculture and
Rural Development (NABARD). This programme has been targeted at 233 SHG women of Angara
Block under Ranchi District to empower them as smart Agripreneures. Under this programme 233
women were provided training on goatery in 7 batches so that they can adopt goatery as profitable
livelihood option. As a result the trained rural women started to increase the unit size ,which led to
develop them as entrepreneurs and ultimately helped to achieve nutritional security in rural areas.
Later on these groups will be developed into producer groups. A model demonstration farm was
               established to support this activity.
Organic Farming: A Boon for Tribal Farmers of Jharkhand
Gundalitoli and Simratoli both villages of Bisa Panchayat under Angara Block, are well within the forest
area and due to their remote location, even with plenty of natural resources, few years back farming was
just an optional choice for villagers. The villagers had no knowledge on scientific practices of cultivation
and/or Scientific Organic practices before intervention of Divyayan KVK and thus majority of the youth
population was usually working as labour in different cities of Jharkhad and in the cities of outside States.
Farmers used to cultivate paddy and some vegetables using conventional practices and so, the production
and productivity of crops was very low. Since, most of the farmers in the both the villages are small
and marginal so it was felt that Organic Farming would be a sustainable and environmentally friendly
production method, which has particular advantages for small-scale farmers.

36 farmers of Gundalitoli and 20 farmers of Simratoli were adopted under organic cluster development
programme in the year 2018-19 with financial support of KVK-TSP.
The viable strategies which were implemented by the KVK, Ranchi to make organic farming more effective,
dynamic and responsive for consumers’ changing demand, both locally and in the cities as well are as
           follows:
