Children’s height and weight was monitored periodically. They were not only provided with iron
supplements and protein rich diet, but de-worming was also done at every three months interval by
administering Albendazole or Mebendazole.
For development of moral and aesthetic value, classes on Vedic and Gita chanting along with meditation,
yoga, music and drama were also organised as an integral part of the programme. Special movies on
moral values were also shown occasionally.

Akhandananda Coaching Centres
To commemorate 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami
Akhandanandaji Maharaj a novel and innovative
endeavour was made by establishing 20 coaching
centres with an objective of integrating academic,
vocational and moral education in the villages of
our operational area to impart man-making and
character building education as envisaged by Swami
Vivekananda.
Under this programme, during 2015-16, an initial
survey of infrastructure for running non-formal
education centres was carried out and initially 20
centres were selected on the basis of the survey.
Further, potential educated boys/girls were identified
as resource persons/teachers and were trained at Distribution of Nutritive Food
Divyayan for 2 days. From the year 2015-16 to 2017-18, 33 centres were established.7 more coaching centres
were established during 2018-19. This Ashrama provides financial support to 7 coaching centres which
were opened during 2018-19 and rest of the centres are run by the Vivekananda Seva Sanghas (Village
Level Organisations formed by ex-trainees of Divyayan). The objective of organising training programme
for potential youths was to evolve in them a teacher to execute coaching programme comprising formal
education, games, extra co-curricular activities, yoga, prayer etc. for the integrated development of the
children ensuring physical, mental and spiritual furtherance.
