Extension Activities of the ARTD Faculty

           The IRTDM Faculty Centre conducts both intensive and extensive field work for the students to acquire
           knowledge about the real life situation through participatory interactions with the villagers. Students study
           villages extensively, identify resources available and problems etc. The students conduct demonstrations
           in the farmers’ field on the different aspects of organic farming.

           a)  Village & Institutional visits : In each semester students must do educational visit to different villages
               and Govt. & Non-Govt. organizations/Institutions for detail study under different courses. Students
               visited the following villages during the reporting period – Galubasa, Ulirajbasa, Ghagratikratoli,
               Hundrujara, Soba, Sadamjara, Arakeram, Boreya Lamkana, Chuttu, Rarha, Obar, etc.
               Institutional visits conducted during the reporting period includes Primary Health Centre (PHC),  Bero;
               Central Tasar Training and Research Institute (CTTRI), Nagri;  Indian Institute of Natural Resin and Gum
               (IINRG), Namkom; Food Corporation of India (FCI),Chutia; Fal Udyog Nursery, Tatisilwai; Horticulture
               and Agro-forestry Research Programme (HARP), Plandu, Ranchi, Fodder Farm and Piggery Unit, BAU.
           b)  Kisan Mela : During the reporting period ARTD students displayed their activities in Regional Kisan
               Mela organized by Divyayan KVK and the Central Kisan Mela of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Ranchi
               at Getalsud farm and explained their products and models to the farmers & visitors.
           c)  Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) : A group of enthusiastic students initiated ISR activities
               by offering free coaching to the students of a nearby school. Every evening 2 or 3 students of the
               university used to go to that school and take classes. The group also provides free educational kits
               to the needy students. At present, the student strength in the coaching is 60. The funding for the ISR
               activity is entirely based on the fund created through the voluntary contribution of the Faculty and
               students of the RKMVERI.

           d  Blood Donation Camp : As part of vigilance awareness week and the golden jubilee celebration of
               Divyayan, Faculty of ARTD in association with Blood Bank, RIMS and Union Bank of India, Ranchi
               organized a blood donation camp at University campus on 16 October 2019. Regional Manager, Union
               Bank of India, Ranchi inaugurated the camp in the presence of  Swami Ishtakamananda. In this camp
               54 donors including Monks, Brahmacharies, Faculty Members, staff and students of RKM Ashrama
               donated blood.
           e)  Rural Camp : A group of students organised a rural camp in two villages of Angara block during
               their winter semester break. They carried out various activities like popularising organic cultivation
               practices, creating awareness about the importance of cleanliness, formation of rural youth groups
               etc.

           f)  RurBan Internship : Post-graduate students of ARTD are undergoing a short-term internship in
               detailed project report (DPR) preparation of two clusters of Simdega district, Jharkhand. They have
               visited the assigned cluster for two days (11-12 February, 2020) to get a contextual idea for preparing
               DPR for 30 components of the mission. They are working on this assignment in collaboration with
               Development Connects – A non-profit Organization of Jharkhand
           Learning through Organizational Attachment (LOA)

           The students of the 8th semester of ARTD and 2nd semester of RDM and DARD were sent to the different
           organizations, institutes in the States of Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and West
           Bengal. They completed their Learning through Organisational Attachment (LOA) curriculum successfully.
           In all 60 students of  8th semester of ARTD and 2nd semester of RDM and DARD completed programme
           successfully.
           Student’s Placement : The main objective of the course under the Faculty of ARTD is aimed at developing
           entrepreneurial skill, so that the passing out students of these courses become self-employed. Nevertheless
           our students, immediately after passing, find themselves at ease in the job market especially in the private
           sector. The following are the placement details of the final year students of  Integrated M.Sc. course in
           ARTD and Diploma course in ARD  during the reporting period:
